Hochzeit auf dem Weingut Boudier & Köller

Wenn ich an Katharina und Nicolas Hochzeit auf dem Weingut Boudier Köller zurückdenke, sind mir ein paar Dinge besonders in Erinnerung geblieben: Die vielen kleinen, mit Emotionen geladenen, Momente zwischen den frisch Vermählten, die mega guten Reden der Väter – die die eine oder andere Träne fließen lassen haben – und last but not least die HAMMER Party – inklusive der Schweizer Likörspezialität: Röteli.

Jetzt fragt ihr euch vielleicht. „Warum gab es einen schweizer Likör auf einem Weingut in der Pfalz?“ Ganz einfach. Katharina und Nicolas wohnen nach einigen Stationen rund um den Globus mittlerweile wieder in Nicolas Schweizer Heimat – haben sich aber für die Hochzeit Katharinas Heimat ausgesucht. :)

Damit alle Gäste, die teilweise sehr weite Anreisen hatten, sich schon mal auf die Hochzeit eingrooven können, wurde mit einem Weinverkostungs- Grill-Get Together am Vorabend der Hochzeit gestartet. Für die musikalische Begleitung sorgte der geniale Mark Selinger, den ich wirklich allen Brautpaaren empfehlen kann, die noch nach einem Sänger suchen. :)

Am Tag nach dem Get Together (inklusive lebensgroßen Figuren des Brautpaars), ging es mit der kirchlichen Trauung mindestens genau so schön weiter. Ganz klassisch, haben sich Katharina und Nicolas getrennt voneinander vorbereitet, sodass Nicolas seine Braut das erste Mal in ihrem Kleid gesehen hat, als sie in die Kirche einlief… Seine Reaktion und auch den Rest dieses einzigartigen Hochzeitsfests, seht ihr mit einem Klick auf Play. :)

Geplant wurde die Hochzeit by the way von keiner geringeren als Svenja Fischer, die gemeinsam mit Drumherum und Blume Exclusiv auch für den Dekotraum aus Lichtern und Blumen verantwortlich war. Für die Fotos waren Candida und Max Jan vor Ort.

Party like there's no tomorrow!

Well.. I’ve known the lovely people of Gut Mönkhof for about seven or eight years now, even was there as a guest at the wedding of my dear friends Sophie & Rene once but up until 2018 never had the chance to film a wedding there.. Ela and Cagdas were eager to change that and even flew me in from Vienna for their big day. Thanks again guys! That means a lot! :)

Their big day started in a hotel downtown Lübeck, where Ela got ready in midst of a bunch of bridesmaids and Cagdas with his best men. From there we all drove to Gut Mönkhof to get the party started.. and what can I say. THEY KNOW HOW TO PARTY! but more on that later..

When we got the venue, we started with the bridal portrait session. Ah by the way, the photos were taken by none other than lovely Julia Bartelt. Thanks again for the awesome time we had making memories for those lovebirds!

The moment Cagdas saw his Ela for the first time in her dress, he was blown away and the smile didn’t leave his face for the whole day. But when you have such an emotional wedding ceremony and awesome friends around you, why would you stop smiling and being happy?

I think having fun with their loved ones was definitely one of the highest priorities on their big day. There were some emotional speeches, rap performances and even a dance battle. If I had to describe the party I’d say: „it was the party to end all parties!“

Looking back on the past season

Sheesh. Just thinking about what has happened since I last published a blog post here makes my head go round.

First of all I want to thank all my awesome couples who let me document their big day all over Germany and Switzerland. I really had a blast capturing all those emotional and intimate moments (Jeez all those tears!) and awesome parties for you.. If you listen carefully, maybe you can still hear the people dancing!

Back in May I even had the pleasure to second shoot for one of my favourite wedding videographers of all time – the one and only Mr. Philip White. Thanks again for all the fun (and of course the drinks) we had, mate! Can’t wait for the next adventure with you!

Talking about adventures.. we (the missus and I) decided that it was time to say our farewells to Hamburg and northern Germany in general. Sooo we moved again. To another country. It was a close race between Spain (Mallorca) and Austria but finally Austria won and we moved back to ye olde country of my dear Paola. Even though we most probably would’ve loved the life on the countryside with our friends there, too, Vienna is also treating us reeeaally nicely and I can’t wait to shoot some weddings here next year!

I don’t even know where to start to describe this wedding in Lima, Peru. As nothing I could say would do it justice. Be it the truly bighearted people, the adventures we had while spending a week in Lima or the most epic wedding venue I’ve ever been to so far. It was just unreal.
But let’s turn back the hands of time a few months. It’s some random winter day and I’m chatting with my buddies Mat of Schneider’s Family Business and Paul and they were like „you know, we’re going to shoot a wedding in Peru“. Instantly I asked if they knew if their couple had already booked someone for the wedding film – and luckily for me, they hadn’t. Long story short, I skyped with Nadine and Kenny (who were just in the middle of moving from Germany to Canada) and boom. Got booked for not only my first wedding outside of Europe but also one of the most beautiful weddings I’ve ever had the pleasure of documenting.
It wasn’t only because of the emotions or the tears of joy – there were happy people everywhere and a venue that seemed to be coming straight from a fairytale.

It. just. had. it. all.

And don’t even get me started on the party, all I can and want to say is that it wasn’t despacito at all, even though that song played quite a few times that night…

Intime Japanisch – Deutsche Hochzeit am Bodensee

Als Mayuko und Pierre vor einem knappen Jahr bei mir für ihre Hochzeit am Bodensee anfragten, war ich gleich begeistert von ihren Hochzeitsplänen. Für die Vorbereitungen hatten sich die Beiden das wunderbare Hotel Riva in Konstanz ausgesucht, von dem es dann zur Trauung und Hochzeitsfeier auf die Insel Mainau ging. Aber erst mal zurück zum Anfang. Kurz nach unserem ersten Kontakt stellten wir fest, dass in der Zeit, in der Paola und ich durch Japan reisten, auch Pierre seine Mayuko in Tokyo besuchen würde. Die beiden führen nämlich seit einigen Jahren eine Fernbeziehung über zwei Kontinente und wollten nach ihrer standesamtlichen Trauung in Japan, dieses Jahr auch noch ein Fest hier in Deutschland feiern. Wie es der Zufall so wollte, waren wir sogar alle zur gleichen Zeit in Tokyo. Da konnten wir es uns natürlich nicht nehmen lassen uns mit Mayuko und Pierre in einem ganz entzückenden Teehaus auf frischen Ingwer Eistee zu treffen, uns persönlich kennenzulernen und über die anstehende Hochzeit zu sprechen.

Die Saison verging wie im Flug und ich freute mich immer mehr auf die intime Hochzeit am Bodensee! Wie eingangs erwähnt, ging es los mit den Vorbereitungen im Hotel Riva, das nicht nur mit sehr moderner Architektur begeistert, sondern auch mein Instagram-Junkie-Herz mit den Wendeltreppen höher schlagen ließ… Ja ja, der Treppenhausfreitag lässt grüßen. Nach einem emotionalen first look, ging es auch schon zur Insel Mainau, wo nach der kirchlichen Trauung noch ein paar Leckereien zu Harfenklängen gereicht wurden. Dass die anschließende Bootstour über den Bodensee nicht nur für die extra aus Japan angereisten Gäste ein besonderes Highlight war, muss ich wohl nicht extra erwähnen.

Zu guter letzt bleibt mir nur noch eins zu sagen: Dōmo arigatōgozaimasu Mayuko & Pierre!
